Reevu: Rearview Cycle Helmet

Alongside my existing Gyro helmet

Top view compared in size to Gyro

Rear vents and intake for mirror

Box and inverted view of mirror slot

First attempt at eye view. Although blurry, the inner chamber can be seen

Second attempt much better, showing rear view. Kitchen appliances can be seen

Locking straps for easy adjustment. Also note rear headband has velcro adjustment.

Couldnt find a model so you have to look at me!

I decided to place the Reevu alongside another cycle helmet to show that the Reevu is slightly larger than most cycle helmets. I found it to be very comfortable for a one-size-fits-all helmet. There are velcro straps at the rear which I feel add to the overall fit. I also appreciated the locking mechanism on the neck straps which allow for adjustment while the helmet is worn.

I have tried to show a real world view of the mirror's image but this is difficult to capture. I had to use a close object to focus on and I had to use the camera's timer to take the shot as the helmet needed to be placed completely over the camera.

I had a few friends try out the helmet at work and the Reevu looked much better on their heads than mine!

Overall I am satisfied with the design and do not feel that the rearward view will be too distracting when used in an outdoor environment. I guess it will take a little time to adjust to having both front and rear views without feeling the need to turn my head when I hear something approaching me.
